Well I've found my new love. Pyrography!!! I absolutely love creating in this medium and am creating items effortlessly. Absolutely love it possibly more than carving. Working on a puece that combines both relief and burning. Will post pictures when done. What do you think?

Well I worked really hard and tried to get two pieces ready for competition. I was only able to finish my Puffin, however I did manage to get yet another first place ribbon. The show has expanded so much people enter 5 or more pieces. Wow. I better get moving. Luckily I have three birds on the go so its time to get em done. Till next year. 👍
Had a blast on the weekend with talented painter Sheila Young at KV Carving Supplies while we learned to paint this cast of a Puffin.
Very excited carving is open again at the KV High School... Come out and join us. Great Group of people and nice night out with friends. Love, love, love this club and the people in it. Newcomers are very exciting and add an extra twist to the night. Love helping new people out.
Well My Pintail Made it into the carving magazine. I was pretty excited. It was the Spring 2015 Issue of Carving Illustrated.
My first woodburning on my own. I made the edges look like slate and added some washed out red color in the dragon. Did a pair of cardinals for a family member for christmas. Am quite proud of myself. It is carved smooth and all detail is painted on. Was nervous about the painting but i think it looks awesome. Might do some more smoothies soon as this project was fun. Finally getting to the woodburning part of my pintail project. It is a tedious but exciting task. One more step to being finished. Woodburning is one of my favorite things to do. Well I am super busy with projects right now. Got 6 or more things on the go. Some I am hopefully wanting to finish for Christmas. My Pintail is on hold for the moment but I will get back on it again soon. Very excited to be starting the wood burning process on the many feathers of this bird. The second step of three in the carving and finishing of a bird. After this its painting time. Then I will be starting on a Peregrine Falcon which will be in a pose contemplating flight. Will be very exciting. Not going to be full size though due to the fact that I need to do some small projects for a while. No more big birds for now.
